Action Reflection
Since I have not yet conducted either of my ideas for possible actions, I do not have a concrete reflection at this moment. What I do have is a prediction of what will happen before, during, and after I do get a chance to execute my ideas for actions against environmental racism. Some challenges I predict might come about will be that not enough people will want to participate in a large protest or there will not be enough time to plan out a successful protest and execute it. If these challenges do occur then I will do silent protest on my own in which I will wear a dust mask all day to represent the fact that I want clean air and no longer want contaminated air. I believe if people see me wearing this this might look at me weird but I am sure they will want to know the purpose of my actions and I will tell them. After I tell them, more people will become aware of the true dangers that environmental racism can cause and is already causing in some areas. In addition to my action, I plan on bringing my knowledge and definition of social justice to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which will become my home for the next four years. With my knowledge and definition of social justice I plan on getting more people passionate about ending environmental racism and seeing the importance of helping minorities who are vulnerable to such an injustice. I will continue to take part in the struggle to achieve environmental equality with the help of the many people I plan to meet at the university.
